Display - Hisense to Boost FPTV Presence in Eastern Europe
June 07, 2004
Hisense is planning to increase European sales through an arrangement with Flextronics in Savar, Hungary. Hisense has stated that the plant, officially on-line in June, will begin with an output of 150,000 TVs in 2004, most of which will be PDP and LCD models. Production will increase to 300,000 units in 2005, eventually building to one million units annually.

The company also intends to build its brand in Europe in both CDT and LCD TV, beginning with value-line and mid-range offerings. At a later stage, higher-end flat panel TVs, such as HDTV models, will be produced at the facility.
